Things to Do at Camp

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a great place to enjoy nature and the magnificent coastal redwood forest, something found no where else in the world. Williams Grove specifically has very good river access for wading (possibly swimming, keep your fingers crossed), fishing, playing or just sunbathing. The river is also accessible by 4-wheel drive truck, no driving in the water allowed!



 

There are also several different nature Trails in the area, even some that are ADA accessible. One of those is just a couple miles north of the campground, across from the Visitor's Center and where the showers are located at Burlington Campground. Check out the Parks Hiking Page.

 

 

Trails are shown on this map by dotted line. In the summer there is a bridge across the river at Williams Grove which connects the camp to a network of trails on the other side of the Eel River. The Visitor's Center, Park Headquarters and Burlington Campground are shown at the top of the map. Across the street from them is the starting point for several trail, including one that Papa can 4-bye in his scooter :)

 

 

Things to do in Myers Flat

 

Myers Flat doesn't offer much in the way of night life or entertainment :) There is a coffee shop if you're hungry for something not cooked over an open fire, and I hear that they also rent inner tubes to float down the river. There is also a winery, Riverbend Cellars, that has a restaurant for dinner and wine tasting during the day.

 

 

Things to do in Garberville

 

Garberville offers much more in the way of shops and restaurants, there are several gift shops for all your souvenir needs. And a main street to explore.

Friday 8/16/12

Get your camp on

*Explore the area, play in the river, go for a hike, HAVE FUN!*

 10:00 a.m. Group Brunch; eat, drink, plan the day

 

Saturday 8/17/12

The BIG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Everyone gets pretty, we get married, we eat, then we celebrate!*

 

 

Sunday 8/18/12

You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!

*Clean up, pack up, say goodbye, cry :*(, checkout time is noon*
